The Plot Twist

Note: This is drawn in manga style where the panels are meant to be read from Right to Left⬅ Please accept my sincere apologies if it seems confusing🙏. I'm still learning about drawing manga and it's a bit different from the drawing comics in terms of panel layouts and colors.)

This is a comic loosely based on a true story that happened to one of my friends who is a very well known comic artist in Sri Lanka. I thought the story was fun and wholesome, so I asked if I could draw a comic based on that story. To my surprise,  she agreed!

I used IbispaintX to to draw the comic, and I used the available presets and backgrounds whenever I could to save a bit of time. I used Vroid studio to make 3D models of the characters so I could use them as references. Previously I made a comic using 3D models but the outcome was not satisfying. The emotions of the characters did not have the punch in them, due to my inexperience of the software. So I decided to draw my next project by hand . The plan was to make a 20 page comic and publish it within the year.

This took about 63+ hours to complete. I initially wanted to finish the manga last year but life kind of got in the way. When I picked up the manga to finish it I wanted to add a few more pages so that the story would flow flawlessly, but I didn't have the motivation or energy in me to do that. I decided to only add two more new pages and decide it's final.

But I'm glad I was able to finish the manga this year. And I'm looking forward to make more comics in the future and collaborate with more people❤🔥 I plan to publish this on Manga plus if that's possible and move onto some other projects. And I know this isn't much, but finishing this manga means a lot to me. I was able to draw a manga and I feel really good about the end result this time.
